Don't tell anyone, but I used to live in a tree house village. The experiment was to see what would happen if you lived in a place where your feet never touched the ground from the time you arrived at home. We had bridges to get from one house to another, and most of the houses and all the comunal area were up in the trees.
We wanted to experiment with how your health and dreams were affected by living high up. We found that people got sick less often and dreams were vivid. We would invite people to sleep over just to experience the dreaming. There were about 11 of us living up there, including two children that were born in the village. It was a magical time, and I am sorry that it did not last longer.
One day, I would like to build a village again. It is not easy, since you don't want the buildings to actually lean against the trees, lest they can damage them, so they have to built on platforms that go around the trees, leaving ample space for their growth. Seeing all your pictures makes me wish I was there now.
