Taurus ♉️ - aleph

in #bull4 years ago

In the ancient Hebrew zodiac, Taurus was first called A or Aleph. This is the name of the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, remotely similar to the head of a Bull with horns. The letter Aleph corresponds to the numerical value 1. In mystical symbolism, this number expresses the unity of all things.

In Kabbalah, this letter stands for Hebrew. אין-סוף‎ - boundless, pure divinity; in set theory, aleph denotes the cardinal number of infinite sets. The name of the letter Aleph contains one of the names of the Almighty.
The bull was identified with the first animal that Adam sacrificed, or with later sacrifices in the Jewish temple. The Christian school saw in Taurus the Bull that stood next to the donkey at the manger during the birth of Christ.
