It's true, Dad, but it almost rose 100 percent within a month.
Dad * There's an economist here who says that the bubble is exploding.
True, Dad, 99bitcoins site is Counting how many times they eulogized Bitcoin and see where bitcoin is now. I'm sure he only spoke slogans and cliches and did not explain his words (as always).
Do you know how he started the year dad?? At 700 dollars.
Dad*they say the Bitcoin Cash is exploding up and maybe take the government in the crypto world
It's true Father there is a coin called Bitcoin Cash, playing with people who do not understand like a doll on a string with a coin that is not worth anything really.
So why does he come up asking Dad?
- Lots of stupid money Dear father, lots of people who come not for the technology but for "bringing the blow".
These are actually the articles that we see in the newspaper when the Bitcoin falls (which I believe are financed by banks)
The capital rule did we say?!.
But unfortunately the masses believe them very easily and people take advantage of their power to lower the price of the Bitcoin and buy it cheaply...to store their value in a blockchain(takes up less space) lol.
What do I believe? As one who invests in Bitcoin since 2012?
Tell the truth. Apparently Bitcoin will not rule alone in the world of digital currencies, but Bitcoin Cash?
seriously? Why? Because it can hold 50 transactions per second ?!

True, most of my investment portfolio is in Bitcoin because I think that the best minds in the world are for him and he is really the only social currency! (Not the extra coin called Bitcoin Cash ,gold ,1,2,3,4 Starts to sound like a television company ).

אבל ההמון מאמין להם בקלות רבה ואנשים מנצלים את הכוח שלהם בשביל להוריד את מחיר הביטקוין ולקנות אותו בזול.

אומר את האמת. כנראה שביטקוין לא ישלוט לבד בעולם המטבעות הדיגיטליים, אבל ביטקוין קאש?

If a writer wrote an article on Calcalist about how Bitcoin is dangerous and is a "Bubble" he immediatly tells me. " Yair, Look at this, he said it's a bubble, what are you doing?? "
Parents can't understand this unless they knew about it a long time ago, They prefer seeing their own money instead of buying "Virtual money" My father invested in Euro's. Bought Euro in order to sell when the rate goes up.
I've Steem + Ethereum as well and i can't agree with you more on Bitcoin Cash.
People tend to freak out when there's a drop on Bitcoin prices, but as you said, they need to understand that the price in January 2017 was 900$. WE ARE ALL GOOD.
and I'll end with a quote I really like which fits perfectly for this situation as well : "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
This is a brilliant post Noam. Hats off to you for sharing this conversation with your Dad. I go through these questions several times when my friends ask me. You have beautifully answered them. In fact its a coincidence that i also hold Neo. Steem . Etherium. Eos. OMG apart from bitcoin in my portfolio. @amiramnoam - Lol. your conversation with your father reflects pretty much the ones that I have with my wife and friends. I am not heavily invested in crypto but just because I mess around with Steemit, everyone loses no opportunities to show me every little scrap of news which says bitcoin is a bubble. I tried to explain that bitcoin has had over 90 orbituries in the last few years and is still going strong but alas.... they do not understand. Anyway - thanks for this entertaining as well as useful article. Also - thanks for sharing your portfolio info. Will look into those coins. Kudos. Upvoted full

bitcoin it's the first cryptocurrency and the origine, so it's the best choice. over 80% of my wallet is bitcoin. just dont care about what others says.

Wow, I try to imagine how you felt after hanging up the phone, for sure it's hard to explain a phenomenon like Bitcoin to someone who maybe know all about just from news, and I am speaking generally here. I remember last December I had a similar discussion with my friends about BTC, back then the price went from $700 up to $100 and the panic was created, some of us said the best investment is to sell urgent, some of us chose to believe in it and give it more time to see how far can it go. It is hard and complicated sometimes, when so many news, facts and predictions are meant to underline a lifestyle on the crypto market, but after all it is the personal choice that matter the most. If you trust BTC and decide to have patience, I am more than sure you will see even higher point for it, after all, as you already said, it has fallen 20 percent in a day but rose 100 percent in a month, so it doesn't mean big loose for someone who invested in BTC in the beginning of the last year. Day by day more people catch the fever of crypto currencies, and that helps a lot. More invested money, more stability. So trust your gut. Wish you a fresh mindset, and Merry Christmas!
Might i ask, what is the best coins to hold as of this moment?
I wan't to diversify my portfolio and invest in some other coins aside from bitcoin and steem/sbd.
Any tips for a cryptonewbie will help. :D

lots of crashes happened this year but the rise of the price comes most of the cryptocurrencies doubled in value too many times
Times are changing and while is good not to forget the past in order not to repeat it ("since 2012, when the decline in the day was 80 percent") I think that the conditions and the market size now represents a new game. While we can hope to bet on the wining horse, it's clear that we cannot predict the "mood" of the market. But, nevertheless we collect what we sow.

Say, there ours one thing I just can't get - how can bitcoin become a real world currency when the price is so unstable? Say I charge x bitcoins for a product but tomorrow the price drops down heavily - I will lose a lot of money and I can't afford out... I must have stability especially since many businesses rely on a very marginal profit... will be happy for your answer. תודה!

Bit of a healthy debate question: Everyone is saying bitcoin is going to be THE crypto, I just don't see how the tech behind makes it deserve no. 1 (4 transactions per second? That is tortoise speed!) .

Excelente post, creo que todos en algún momento desde que nos unimos al mundo de las criptomonedas hemos tenido una charla similar con familiares y amigos.
A mi muy personal punto de vista creo que veremos esta volatilidad hasta que el bitcoin alcance su capitalización máxima, dado que es algo nuevo y no solo el tema de la cadena de bloques, los contratos inteligentes, las criptomonedas, debemos de estar conscientes de que en la actualidad son muy pocas las personas que realmente están al pendiente de las nuevas tecnologías.
Es complejo que alguien de 40 años en adelante que no requiere estar informado al 100% de las nuevas tecnologías entienda algo de las criptomonedas y de las muchas aplicaciones de la cadena de bloques o el uso de los contratos inteligentes.
De hecho en méxico la gente que ya es económicamente activa duda mucho porque su criterio lo basa en lo que en la televisión se dice y el hecho de mencionar que es descentralizada y no regularizada crea un miedo en invertir, es penoso decirlo pero la gran mayoría de los mexicanos se siguen guiando por lo que la prensa escrita y la televisión dicen y como bien sabemos muchas veces o la gran parte de las ocasiones están fuera de toda la realidad.
Sin duda que el bitcoin como el resto de las criptomonedas tendrá que seguir su éxito por gente que conoce, confía, apoya y da poder a este concepto y como lo he dicho siempre esto del bitcoin y las criptomonedas, no es ni será para todos, únicamente para quienes dejan de pensar de forma arcaica y no evolucionan.
