Cryptos
Well this wasn't quit what we did expect! Normally May and June are historically good months but this year all trends are getting broken! It does feel like the bottom is falling out of the cascade!
But the technology is still the same, so if you do still trust it, these could days could be filled with golden opportunities! But be carefull how much you do invest! Investing in cryptos is still a risky business!
I could explain some reasons why the market is dropping, why the bears are back and the bulls are still locked up! But we have to face the fact that the crypto market is not mature yet!
Most transactions are based on sentiment! Sentiment is what brought BTC to its all time high and sentiment could also bring it back to earth!
Some coins still will have a future but some will not survive this dip, crash or whatever we should call!
Steem!
Well I have always been an advocate of keep on going. And yes, if you are here for the long term, you still should engage with other, keep on posting, creating a platform where others can interact with each other and so on!
@tarazkp and @taskmaster are really good examples of this!
But still the whale wars are getting bigger and heavier! In stead of focusing on trying to build up a strong middle class, they prefer to spill their using power to downvote each other. Calling each other names and so on!
Whales out there! You will probably never read this and why would you. I am just a stupid red fish or plankton, whatever you like to call it!
Each downvote you are giving each other. Could be better used to upvote a red fish or plankton. Because the stronger this group will become the less impact the rape of the reward pool will have!
Did you ever think about this? I am not going to mentions names here! Because I don't want to get involved in this war!
In the past 6 months I have been trying hard to make something of this! But, like many other, sometimes it just does seem useless! Let's be honest, without investing a bag of money, I will never beccome a dolphin or higher. I may be lucky to become a minnow ever!
But also a call to all fellow red fishes and plankton! You are also to blame! Everybody does dolphin, Orca or whale fishing! In stead of supporting your own breed! We keep on looking at reputation, most comments are made hoping to get an upvote! Upvoting post, which are heavily boosted by vote buying! So, why don't you interact with each other! Do you feel yourself to good to communicate and interact without thinking about scoring an upvote!
I do know that I can easily earn 10 SBD per week by upvoting the correct others, but I do prefer to interact with the people who deserve it and also are glad to interact with me!
I have said it again and I will repeat it again! I will always prefer a genuine comment above an upvote. I don't mind getting them but I rather interact with others!
Indeed, there are bad signs. People who are trying to force their ideas onto others! Good communities who are getting black listed and so on! And for what! The people who were trying to do this, where pure at heart but forgot to communicate about it and forgot that some of us are real people and these kind of actions do hurt!
To be honest, it does hurt to see your community getting blacklisted because there is a bot in the name, while we also have pure intentions! Trying to decrease the burn rate in our niche! So fuck it!
I will not withdraw my witness vote for this particular witness because everybody deserves a second chance and because it is supported by one the Steemians which I do highly respect! If you read this, you known that I am talking about you! You will still have my support! No strings attached!
So why the fuck do same care about people down voting? It is there right to do so! We don't know always the reasons! Who are we to judge? We don't have to play the ruler of this empire! Let the community decide!
But, while it is his right to do so, it would be great that @ned will explain will he is doing this! Maybe there are valid reason or maybe he is just jumping of the ship! While he is obliged to do so, it would be great to hear his reasons. For sure, because he is one of the founders! So @ned, if you are willing to give a reason that would be great and will bring some rest to the community! If you are not willing to do so. While that's fine also! But if you are willing to communicate about it, do it honestly or don't do it all! Don't risk destroying the fine reputation you do have!
Not all is lost!
For sure, cryptos are taking again a steep dive and yes interaction on the platform will decrease! But there a still a huge number of people here on the platform with good intentions and pure at heart!
People who are trying to create communities, people who are trying to support red fishes, planktons and minnow (great thing you are doing @whatsup). I do believe that you made the right choices!
Engagement leagues like @abh12345 is running. I do wonder if there will be a decrease on the average points scores. But like I told you, I will sponsor the lucky number 25 as long as I can!
To my fellow founders and members of the @sbcbot! Well guys, you are gold. Most of you are very pure at heart! Together we are tying so decrease the burn rate within our niche! So fuck it, if we got black listed, we will stick together and save some souls, educate them and create them into good Steemians. And the ones, who don't want to become this. Well fuck it! But you will loose our support!
Special mentions also to @cicbar, @ervin-lemark and @sames! Just like the founders of the @sbcbot I do consider all of you my friends! Need something just ask and if I can help, I will help!
So, that is enough rant for me! While, I do want to become a minnow! I don't care if you upvote or downvote this post! Just do as you desire. Even not voting is fine, but at least step up to the plate, take the courage and write a genuine comment! Because without interaction this platform is doomed, regardless of all the SMTs, Hives and so on coming! Maybe steemit.inc doesn't care enough about the platform but do we? From some, I do know that they care. From other I don't know! But if you don't care. Downvote, sell your steem to the ones who do care. Run away and never come back!

As of "whale wars", consider this: each downvote between whales is just another chunk of reward pool got free from them and it's going to support all others who do not participate in "whale wars". Let them hit each other, it's just good for us ))

I've seen a lot of posts such as yours, but I'm yet to see a whale commenting or up/down voting it.
We have our little tribe to take care of and even though we found each other on steemit, we'll survive if it goes down.
The mainstream here is hostile towards our niche, they look down on us thinking that they are the ones with the quality content and that only they bring the value to the platform. The sports betting is beneath them...
Fuck them and fuck their empty, long-winded diatribes!
Let them sniff each other's farts, we have things to do and places to be.

Tom Lee had an opinion that the futures expiry is driving the prices down ~ 10 days before expiry. I need to look at it but it's possible.
I have also read somewhere that the futures could be involved again :(

I agree it’s a shame that the little guys don’t stick together. But the truth is that there is no money to be made when you’re circle-jerking with other plankton and small minnows. And after all, making money is the main reason most people got on board.
I must admit I’m guilty myself lately.
Although I’ve always made upvoting and supporting my peers a priority (I tried front-running bots as an experiment for a week or so, but that didn’t give me the same satisfaction I got from helping others to grow), but while I’m being as absent as I am now - still recovering from surgery - I have some autovotes set up. Those are set to upvote some larger accounts, so I would still have a little profit while being away.
As soon as I’m able to spend more time on here, I’ll go back to my normal manual curation, and helping others to grow will be my number 1 priority again.
Still, it will remain difficult to find a good balance between helping others and growing my own account. After all, the bigger I can grow my account, the better I can support others... It’s a fine line to walk...
As for the communication from the top down, I can only agree it would be a good thing for everyone to know what @ned’s up to. The absolute silence raises a lot of questions, and isn’t good for the trust in the platform and its future.
But I guess it’s something that is out of our hands, something we have to live with, whether we like it or not.
Anyway, it’s good to see people are still so passionate about SteemIt. :0)

I can’t wait for this to be a footnote in history. In a year or so, I’ll probably be laughing at all this and realize how much I’ve learned from this experience... at least, that’s what I hope.
