Standing majestically in downtown Lhokseumawe, Aceh Province, the Islamic Center of Lhokseumawe City presents the feel of the Middle East in the fertile land of Aceh. This Islamic Center revives our memories of the glorious history of the Pasai Islamic Ocean Kingdom which is listed as the first Islamic empire in Indonesia.
The building of Islamic center is not fully completed yet. (we can see in the picture above). Later this Islamic center will be equipped with supporting facilities other than the Great Mosque itself as for the following:
- Multipurpose Building,
- Library Building,
- Diniyah / School,
- Museum & Rumoh Aceh,
- Mess / Guest House,
- Outlets / Food Stalls and Soevenir,
- Kindergarten and Qur'an Recitation Park (TPA)
- and the House of High Priests mosque.
This project is so big and requires a large amount of funds, reasonable if the construction takes a long time.
