Red Dead Redemption 2 is an amazing game, it's well worth the wait and hype. RDR2 is a prequel to the original red dead redemption for ps3. I never played the ps3 red dead redemption, but I did play the ps3 red dead revolver with Red Harlow, which in my opinion was an underrated game for PS2 that didn't get enough love.
There is so much to do in this game besides the story mode. The main character in this one is Arthur Morgan who is a member of the Van Der Linde Gang. This Story takes place in 1899 and about 10 years before the events of Red Dead Redemption. It's the end of the outlaw and the Wild West is becoming tame with the introduction of the Industrial Revolution. The Van Der Linde Gang had botched Robbery gone wrong and they are in the run of the law trying to find another way to make some money to live peaceful lives. The story gets interesting from there as Arthur Morgan is confronted with many decision along the way and what life he wants to live. Its a story of redemption just as the title implies.
What makes this game worth it besides the story is the interaction between you and the NPC's. For example, there's a mission where you have a bar fight in the town saloon when you go back the NPC's town they remember what u did and tell you to get out. Eventually, if you do more honorable deeds the townspeople forget what you did and greet you with open arms. I think the best thing about this game is the amount of stuff u can do in the game. With over 100 species of animals in this game, you can hunt for days. You can sell their pelts for money or use them to make close at the trapper. You can also forage, take a bath and eat your catch let it be by hunting or fishing,
Red Dead online Beta was recently released even though Rockstar still has to figure out how to make the economy fair so that ammunition won't cost and arm and a leg, its fun. One complaint that I have is that you have to rank up to unlock guns to buy, so it pretty much a grind fest. I hope this gets fixed so that you can grind more easily to gain rank instead of doing stranger missions over and over. RDR2 does have a battle royal mode which I haven't tried since I'm not a fan of the format, but I hear its pretty fun.
This game all in all is worth the $60 alone just for the story mode alone, great story and tons to do in this game. Do you have Red Dead 2? What's your opinion on the game itself?
