Behind the scenes | Sneak preview of my soon to be launched felting studio

in #busy6 years ago

Today existed of waiting for the light to come through the only window I have in my home that is just positioned right and giving me just enough room to set up some very basic 'studio' - literally a mannequin on an empty wooden box, my photo backdrop sticking to the door posts towards my living room, and all in all very very simplistic but effective.

I just loaded these in my Lightroom and when there is daylight again I will edit these pictures. Normally editing at night isn't a problem per say, but I want to make sure the colours of the scarfs in the pictures are as 'real' as the colours are in full daylight.

So I guess tomorrow will exist of waiting for the light - again.

Not in the least because I will be doing another set of photographs - different scarfs with a different background, in order to make the scarfs stand out as much as possible. I used the pink background today for some of the scarfs with greens and browns, as I noticed how gorgeous that looked, and tomorrow I will have some more grey and black & white and red work to photograph, against a grey background. Maybe I'll even have the Mannequin change dresses.

As some people didn't really understand this picture when I wrote about it before I'll share it again: she's my epic companion in all of this! Wherever would I find such a patient model to put my scarfs on? Oh, she's the main subject of another blog post of mine as well! Which Mannequin has more stories on this chain? (Oh wait... I'm such an amateur, right @steemitri?)

Anyway, this post serves as a tiny sneak peak into my work of the past few months! If you wondered why I was engaging less... I was with my hands in soap in order to manipulate fibers into becoming new fabric (scarfs)! I'll soon tell you all the name of the website where these beauties will be shown in full. A little patience... A little more patience.

(Mostly telling myself that.)

Sort:

You should be commissioned to make our SteemFest 5 scarves. The ones in Krakow were nice, but I think yours would be more heart-felt.

Hahaha! I'll think about making 300 scarfs in the next 11 months :P

Think?? Should be 4 scarves deep by now!

i would like to encourage you by saying that you are in the right and good destiny.thank you for sharing this good and wonderful information in your post .thanks again

Just came back from a short harvesting trip to another part of the island and saw the good news, I am very happy for you!
And don't be fooled Rosanne, you have walked a very long path in a very short time, believe me I know :)

PS Don't get too frustrated if you can't get the exact colors of the scarves on your screen, especially the greeny shades can be very tricky.

Thanks a lot for these words @fotostef! I think I did a LOT in a short time as well - I'm going to do a course on felting in the new year, but by then I also already have a website showing what I can make :D

And yes, sometimes the colours on screen aren't so amazing, the greens are going pretty well because I use a pink background which seems to balance it well, but the orange and reds are hell :D

Thanks for your support!
