Looking Out From Within ~B & W

in #bwphoto7 years ago (edited)

A couple of years ago while traveling to through Nevada to Arizona we decided to take a detour and go off the beaten path.
What we went off our path for was to visit the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. I had never visited any cliff dwellings before, so it was an item on my bucket list.

According to U.S. National Park Service, the dwellings were used by nomadic tribes as temporary shelter. In the 1200's the caves were then occupied by the Mogollan people for at least 20 years.

We were able to actually go up into the dwellings and it's just amazing. We followed a trail and eventually the dwellings came into view. The feeling you get when you have climb up into the cave and turn around was just breathtaking! The Native American Indians sure lived in some beautiful places.

Enjoy!
