The Pangong Tso (Tso = lake) is a high altitude lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of 4,350 m (14,270 ft). The lake is 134 km (83 mi) long and 5 km (3.1 mi) wide. Nearly 40% of the lake lies in Indian borders and rest extends in China. The lake can freeze completely during winters despite being saline water and is inaccessible for most time of the year.
