Route 66, from Chicago to Santa Monica.
Interestingly, I flew exactly from Chicago (my first stop in the US) to LA, and as soon as I dropped my bags off at my friend's place, we went to the Santa Monica Pier, and I saw the sign and took this photo, without knowing anything about Route 66.
Coincidences happen, and when it happens like this, it makes you feel good.
