The giant American corporations together have 1.4 trillion in tax havens - money that is not recorded on American soil not to be subject to taxation.
Study by Oxfam and released under the name Broken at the Top reveals who they are and how much they have in the offshore billion dollar corporations. In order:
Apple, with 181 billion dollars in offshore.
General Electric (who recently received 28 billion dollars in aid from the taxpayer), has 119 billion dollars in tax havens.
Microsoft: 108 billion in offshore.
We could then listed, but let's stop here and put the link to the Oxfam study at the end of this text.
If we consider that these trillions of dollars should be on American soil getting the proper tax - that is, depending on exemptions, between 26% and 35% - we can get an idea of how much money would be available to the state to be used in building schools, hospitals, improving the public transport system in the fight against poverty etc etc etc.
Out there, and without taxation, the big money is primarily used to pay to shareholders, bonus to directors, further concentrate income and power and deepen the social abyss and the dystopia in which we live.
And if this money all is not available to assist the less privileged, it is quite possible for donations to political campaigns.
Money raised from the private sector by American candidates running for a seat in the race for president is divided as follows:
Clinton: 268 million
Sanders: 183 million
Bush: 156 million
Cross: 136 million
Rubio: 117 million
Trump: 50 million
In other words, the kind billionaires Americans who hide money in tax havens and deprive the poor of better public services were able to find a billion dollars to distribute among their candidates.
But it makes sense within capitalism because it is a solid investment and effective since it will be re-recorded when the winning candidate is sleeping in a room in the White House.
Here the study of Oxfam.
