GM plans to return to Europe.

in #carslast year

As reported by insideevs (citing talks by GM Europe President Jaclyn McQuaid with Automotive News Europe) GM plans to resume car sales in Europe as early as this fall, but only electric cars of various brands are planned. We can guess that it is about Chevrolet and Cadillac because these brands were present in Europe in the past. In the first place, the cars will go to the markets of northern countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland) because this is where EVs are most popular. The company does not specify which models will go to Europe, but you can expect a Cadillac Lyriq and possibly an upcoming Chevrolet Equinox EV and Chevrolet Blazer EV. Bravo GM! Returning to Europe is a very good idea, you cannot ignore one of the largest markets in the world. All the more so because the Chinese are already here.

What about the UK, as we're no longer in Europe it's not quite as clear cut?

I have not found the information but I think that now a separate homologation is required for the British market and this is not cheap and additionally requires the development of a version for left-hand traffic. But the UK market is very large, so GM will certainly be thinking about returning to GB.
