I love cats. They are independent, intelligent, respond to its name and seriously believe that you belong to them. You are in fact their human!! What is cozier than a soft kitten on your lap, purring away? It is a fact that that humans benefit greatly from this. It is therapeutic, good for stress, relaxing, good for depression and something to cuddle and love. They are clean and is very particular about this.

A, tiger is a cat, so is a lion, a leopard, a cheetah, a jaguar, a lynx, a panther and puma. These are wild animals not to mess with. Some years ago a tour group visited the lion park in Gauteng, South Africa. The lions were in enclosures and and signs make it perfectly clear to stay in your vehicle at all times and all windows closed. A few foreign tourists wondered what all the fuss was about because these cats, in this case of course lions, looked so beautiful and harmless. They decided to have a photo taken while standing by the lions. To their and the photographer's total horror, the lions stated to drag them into the wooded area and ate them. They couldn't be saved. These are wild cats and you can't take the wild out of them.

All of them leap, run, pounce and snarl. Many climb trees, swim and move with lightening speed. Their claws and fangs are incredibly long, sharp and powerful. Hugging your domesticated cat is lovely, but do remember that not all cats are cuddly and would like a hug. Keep this in mind, it can save your life. The tiger is the cat that kills more people than any other dangerous entity.

There have been cats on Earth for a very long time. Much longer than dogs, wolves and bears. Cavemen probably tamed some of the smaller cats and let them live in the Caves, where they could chase away rats, mice and snakes that tried to enter. The Saber - toothed tiger were kept away with fire and fires had to be kept burning all night.

Long ago in Egypt, people thought that cats were magic. The Egyptians made statues of cats from wood and stone. Milk for these statued cats got milk served in saucers of gold. When their cats died, they were buried in special cat graveyards. Sea captains of old brought Siamese cats home to their children. They were a revered species with their blue eyes and coats like silk.

I find it rather humorous that cats can do tricks, but they won't stand to be bossed around. They open doors, ring door bells etc. They say that cats have 9 lives, but they don't. They are just so quick and sure-footed that they manage to escape danger many times in their lives.

We love cats, too... the domestic kind. Sad that people at WILD animal parks are so stupid. Wildcats? It's not their fault... cats will be cats.
