Originally, God had high ideas for the woman. Women were doubly refined, created out of man who was created out of dust. The first woman was the crown of God’s creation. Formed when all other things have been put in place for her comfort. So soft, so delicate, so charming; God Himself presented her to the first man, Adam. So magnificent she was made to sit as a queen in her home. For her roles, God equipped her with sublime qualities of love, gentleness and endurance.
According to the Cambridge advance learner’s dictionary, DIGNITY means
Calm, serious and controlled behaviour that makes people respect you;
The opinion that you have of the standard of your own importance and value.
The dignity of a woman lies in her hands. A woman’s dignity is lost if she is exposed to some kind of “undignifying’’ life style.
A girl could go to her parents for money to buy a book, handout or even to pay her school fees, but to her greatest surprise, her parents will start comparing her with other girls who do not depend on their parents for money but wayward bringing money to her parents.
The next action she takes is to get the money from other benevolent sources especially the opposite sex. Since she needs the money desperately, she has no other option than to indulge in pre-marital sex in other to get the money. She could be a virgin before the incident but after the act, she loses two things- her virginity and her dignity and she also committed the sin of fornication.
She has tasted the forbidden fruit, she believes there is nothing more to lose, she starts going to night clubs so as to meet more men and sleep with them as well. In that process she might get drunk and possible fall asleep. The next line of action is that many boys may rape her. Over tens guys could rape her and after that she get pregnant.
The big question here is, “WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PREGNANCY?’’ Of course, nobody would want to mother a child for ten guys. Abortion is the option, so she thinks. She may die in the process and thus, she loses her life and another disturbing question is “WHERE WILL SHE GO? HEAVEN OR HELL.’’ If peradventure she doesn't die, she will be embarrassed by those guys who had canal knowledge of her. You can imagine yourself walking on the road and someone would just shout “HEY, YOU LOOSE GIRL”, how embarrassing!

When she should get married in the future, it could be one of the friends or brother of one those guys who raped her and he (one of the guys) may discourage her husband to be that she was a loose girl and thus she misses her opportunity of marriage. If peradventure she gets married and there is a little misunderstanding, the man might just refer to her past and humiliate her. From there, she might not be dear to her husband and such may give rise to so many consequences which includes divorce.
She looses eventually everything; her virginity, her dignity and her marriage. She’s brought to square one all because of the wrong advice she got from her parents, whose main goal is to extort money from her. She becomes a laughing stock.
Inclusion, it’s not every advice given to you by your parents that you have to take because they are experienced. Some of their advice may be bad and destructive. We youths especially the girls should determine to live a life worthy of respect and honour now and in the future. Don’t allow material things to steal your dignity and future.
