Wisdom for Daily Living: Choosing Your Battles Wisely

Hello everyone, @kayceesuave here again.

Today on Wisdom for Daily Living, I'll be talking about "Choosing Your Battles Wisely".

In this world, there are many things begging for our attention, some are for harm and others are for good.

To effectively walk through life, we must learn to choose our battles carefully. We don’t have to be involved in every noise around us.

As it is said, if you stone every dog that barks at you, you will eventually not get to your destination.

There is a clue we can take from David as we read:

“1 Sam 30:7-8
7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
8 And David inquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.”

In the heat of the moment, David didn’t act rashly. He was careful to choose his battles. He knew that there was no victory for him if he fights a battle the Lord has not sanctioned.

As he went after the enemies on the word of the Lord, he indeed recovered all.

We must learn not to respond to every confrontation that is made against us. Some of them are targeted just to spoil our mood while others are intentional distractions from the enemy.

Our focus must not shift no matter the sidelines.

We must learn to follow peace with all men and where it is necessary that we stand our ground and demand for what is right and ours, we must do so fearlessly.

Our confidence should be that God will support our fight for truth.
