To wash away the problems of today, the issues of yesterday, and the sorrows of tomorrow. Hoping the altered state of mind helps you to forget what you just encountered. To become social and more acceptable by your peers, even though you don't even like who you are deep down. Bracing for the aftermath of coming so close to passing out, the poison of liquor so close to a slower beating heart, the toxic flavor so close to death. Whether social, acceptance, relaxation, avoiding drama and sorrow, alcohol desires to be everything life will not give you. The addiction desires to take your finances, your family, your freedom, and increase your opportunity to never face your fears. Forgetting who I am and what I have done seems much better with a buzz than taking the chance of staying sober and making a rational decision. You may think it not bondage, until you cannot live without it. You may think it not chains, until you cannot sleep without it. You may think you can control it until it makes the decision to take control of you. Alcohol is bondage, and this writing is not up for debate. However, as men & women of God, Brethren In Bonds encourages you to make a decision to choose peace without a mirror in pieces, a shattered mind desiring a taste of death rather than the Bread of Life. What will it be my friend? You choose.
