We all have different journeys with God. I have found that the more I come along my own journey, the more I grow and learn about God. I know that he wants amazing things for you and me. He loves us more than you can even image. As we grow in this journey, we are given gifts and one of these is Joy. It is such a wonderful thing that you will want more and more of.
Joy is not something that is given freely. It only comes when we are in relationship with God. When we have the fullness of God in us. This is when we find pure joy.
Joy is truly a magnificent thing. A gift from God, that makes us who we are. It allows us to be that beacon in a crowded room. People see this joy in us and they want more of it. They are attracted to this energy. They may not be able to articulate what it is but they will want more of it.
This is shown in John 15:5 - “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit”
Joy also allows us to go through trials with peace. This comes with the following notions:
- Be Still
- It is well
- You are with me
When we have this peace and joy we can conquer anything. We can keep moving forward when it seems like everything is impossible. But it’s not necessarily about getting out. It’s about moving through these trials and learning what we need to learn. This is part of the process where God is shaping us into who he wants us to be.
The trials that we face aren’t easy. But God has a plan. So it is time to rest in him and trust. If we look at Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things [including trials] work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”, we see that the trials that we face can be part of the plan.
It is not as simple as God is in us and therefore we have Joy. This is all a journey. The closer that we get to God, the more that we can see and feel the "Joy" that he brings us. The journey is truly amazing. It is exciting to know that he is working in us and helping us to become who he wants us to be.
I want to encourage you on your journey to seek God and be grateful for the gifts that he brings us
