Mark 2:1-12
Today's bible reading talked is about the story that confirms Jesus Christ as the real saviour of the body, soul and spirit of human beings. A group of four man brought a paralytic man to Jesus Christ as He was telling the good news to people in a house. Amazingly, in Mark 2:5b, the first thing that came of Jesus Christ's mouth was, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” To the religious leaders of then, this was a stranger statement, that no man should utter. As they thought on how can a man say another man's transgressions are given, Jesus went straight to the them and told them the truth of sin as the origin of man's trouble on earth. He said in Mark 2:9-11
“9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.”
On hearing this, the sick became healed; people were filled with joy, and they thanked God. So many lessons can we learn from this story; one of which is sin is the origin of physical and spiritual calamity. Another lesson that we can learn for the story is that to overcome such calamity, the issue of sin must be dealt with first. This makes healing easier to function when the issue of sin as been dealt with because the physical is being controlled by the spiritual. Sometimes, we don't look beyond the physical when trying to solve spiritual-inflicted problems. and so we remain the same in that problem. Breathen, have you discover the root of the problem you are facing? Are they physical or spiritual? The good news is no matter the root of your problem, spiritual or physical, Jesus Christ has the awesome power to solve them today. In Luke 4:18-19, talks about Him:
“18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Brethren, do you wish to enjoy the salvation in all your dealing in life. Jesus Christ is what you need, no other way. To receive His salvation all you need to do is to surrender your life to him, if you can do this my brethren, you are saved completely.
PRAYER
Father, heal me from any form of calamity challenging my life today, in Jesus' name
