"Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts..." (James 3:4&5).
Today, I am drawn to these verses of Scripture and it dawned on me that many people have been taught on the tongue, words...etc. Yet, it seems like nothing has really been learnt.
Well, this is just a reminder. The Bible likened the tongue to a rudder. The rudder is a small steering used to control the direction of a ship. Pls note that I said "used to control the direction" and not "drive".
What drives a ship is not the rudder but the strong winds. What drives you is not ur tongue but some external factors of life.
Also, the rudder is in the ship. Likewise your tongue is in your "body".
Several factors of life would drive you because as long as you are in the sea (world), static or dynamic, strong winds will hit you. But your tongue can control the direction of your life. Use the wind to your advantage and steer your life in the right direction. Remember, you are the pilot of your life.
