In an old TV serie, The Legend of the Seeker, the first Seeker (one that is mystically assigned and empowered to fight all form of evils) truncated his assignment by consummating his love for his Confessor( a lady that is equally empowered to assist the Seeker in his quest to destroy evil).
It was a forbidden thing for a Seeker and his Confessor to consummate their love for each other as this will neutralize their powers and derail their assignments. But this couple out of share indiscipline and lack of self-control abandoned a loft mission that was to benefit the people of their generation.
Similarly, many today have compromised their calling by engaging in things contrary to their work or assignment or destiny. Many have gotten themselves involved in corruption, greed, infidelity, pride etc by doing so, they have their plans and purpose in their lives.
