For a bit of a "Christmas Miracle" event, it snowed overnight so it was a white Christmas after all. It is pretty slushy and wet, but from the balcony in the morning looked white enough to chalk it up.
What is nice about real Christmas, is that it is much more relaxed and I didn't get out of my morning clothes all day. However, the parent-in-laws were coming so, there was cleaning to be done - even though the place has been "Christmas cleaned" 5 out of the last 6 days.

@smallsteps received a (toy) vacuum cleaner from Santa and was excited to test it out in comparison to her old one, a feather duster. She has always loved taking part in the clesning, but I am pretty sure that by the time she can actually clean something, she will have developed a strong aversion.

What was fun to do while my wife did the last minute cooking (potatoes), was decorating gingerbread biscuits. These were gluten free ones that almost were okay for our daughter, and we took a risk and let her eat one as she was so precise and enjoyed the decoration so much. She likes the kinds of things she has to focus closely on details.

They came out pretty good, though tasteless other than that of the sugared decorations. I really like gingerbread and these had no influence on my desire to consume them.

The food was good with a selection of fish dishes first, then ham. We cracked some Prosecco, red wine and I had a cognac with my father-in-law.
Unlike gingerbread, I really don't like cognac (or whiskey) but people keep buying them for me as if it is expected I am meant to learn to like them - no matter how many times I say I drink gin. I read up a little and it seems cognac can be kept indefinitely as long as stored correctly, so this bottle should last me, indefinitely.
Thw other day I threw out about 15 bottles of various open alcohols as I assumed they are bad. There were several bottles of rum that people kept bringing me, opening for one or two and then never touched again. I don't see throwing them away as a waste, as they are not gin or wine.
Tomorrow it is the third Christmas meal for Boxing day, which is going to be very vegan. I don't mind people having their fad diets, but inflicting them on others is one of the worst forms of sadism. The worst form will be having to listen to newly labelled fad vegan dieters talk about how it is the only way to eat and all of the benefits of it. I should record it because I am about 98% certain that by this time next year, there will be another fad diet on the menu.
Never confuse fad followers with early adopters, they are fundamentally different. Fad followers need enough social proof prior to the attempt, early adopters prove it to themselves by diving in, learning and participation. It won't be long until the fad followers discover crypto and the early adopters reap the benefits of accepting new and taking the risk on something they believe in.
I was hoping that the Christmas miracle this year was going to be Steem at an all time high, but I might hae to wait til the end of 2020 for that.

Please, notify me when you are given a bottle containing an alcoholic beverage you do know what to do with. LOL
Merry Christmas!
I don't think even a Finn would have drank these...
Who am I kidding :D
Wasn’t talking about the open ones. :)
I have no problem with rum, whiskey or cognac in general, although I won’t drink just anything.
Still have a couple unopened whiskey, cognac and rum bottles. I figure I will save them for if I get divorced.

I’m afraid the next STEEM ATH could happen only in late 2022 or early 2023 if the BTC mining reward halving results in patterns similar to the last two occasions.

I think it will be before, but it will take a while regardless and - a whole lot of Steem drama between.
$8.57 is so far above Steem's current price that I think it will take serious hype to get there let alone above again. I believe the overall cryptocurrency market will take us to the previous ATH and beyond again.
I've been trying to find a video I watched on YT yesterday that had pretty solid looking estimates of what the next ATH could be given trends so far. The timing of the next ATH was three years from now the entire crypto market cap was estimated to be $11 trillion. Interestingly, BTC dominance was predicted to dip into 0.23 but bounce back quickly.
[Edit: I found it]
This looks like a white christmas to me! Enjoy it!
Not too bad, I was thinking about making my first snowman ever after 16 years in Finland... But nah.
You should! I hadn't seen a snowman in forever that be cool.
I probably should make one with my daughter sometime. My first winter here I was trying to surprise my niece with a snow castle. It was minus 24 and the snow was like dry sand - I didn't know it was meant to be wet snow. Spent 2 hours shoveling and had a pile of snow about 12 inches high as it just kept sliding away.
I did prove that I can get very sweaty in very cold conditions though.
Enjoy veganmas! Better you than me. I'm sure we'll see loads of pictures as older brother has told me he will post them. 😁
Did you know I'm on a strongly non-vegans diet these days? It's exactly like a vegan diet...But the extreme opposite.
You should do a #clueless-review of veganmas.
I might do the review, it could be fun.
I don't mind eating vegetables, I just don't want to hear about other people's fad diets for hours on end.
I hear ya...Loud and clear.
