A non-working solution for all problems in the world:
We just take one million of the smartest people in the world and let them have a discussion about the problems. They will solve the problems.
The solution doesn't work. Even if we knew how to pick the one million smartest people in the world, how are they going to have a discussion? Which one is even going to read one million opinions of all the others?
But here's how this can come true. Here's how we can really have a discussion of millions of people where the information doesn't disappear. Each valuable piece of information takes its place because the machine will be able to create an opinion map and to calculate who disagrees with who, who agrees with whom.
This will allow for the first time in history, collaborative decision-making in large scale. This will of course have huge social implications, where the masses can really reach a decision together and we will not need representatives anymore the way we need them today.

Disclaimer: I'm not part of the Tau team and this post is obviously 42% joke.
There is only one, really big problem:
Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them.
The biggest problems with AI is that they are stuck.
They cannot change their mindset.
And another problem, i guess there are two:
People really do not know what they want. So that really cannot be put into an AI.
The universe is a "what if" construct.
And you are supposed to run out and find out, what if...
What if there was chocolate and vanilla ice cream? Which do you like best?
What if there were more flavors of ice cream?
And the biggest problem of getting to where X=Y, that makes three... and counting:
The core values of people are often not mutual. And often mutually exclusive.
We should have three political parties in America (but the elite couldn't have that.)
Group A: wants structure
Group B: wants safety
Group C: wants freedom
And carried out to any extreme (sometimes just taking the first logical step) anything that satisfies one group, scares the hell out of the other two groups.
Tau even addresses the rules of changing the rules. It can change its mind.
Most people or activites will just be agreeing/negating statements on the network and following parts of their fav people's worldviews.

I know these has all been well studied, but we still don't have a discussion scaling platform to see if things are really mutually exclusive and whatnot. Like Tau u can have people from all 3 groups just stating their opinions and directly contribute to improve all 3 aspects in parts where there are without contradictions. All the information isn't just lost at the voting booth, voting just can't scale.
It's all fun and games until decisions are taken out of our hands.
It will start small like all of these things do until its more logical to let the ai do more and more.
Anyway, new America can't be any worse than current America.
Tau will never guess or make decisions, it's a tool to aid in collaboration and decision making, and well, bridge discussions and development amongst many other things

While reading the post I could not avoid thinking to Orwell's "1984"
I think that all this AI, gender things, politically correct and so on are a way to make people weaker, keep them asleep making them thinking that those are the priorities to be faced and fought for during our lives while there are much more important aspects, like the poverty of values, the reduction of freedom of mind and word and the growing monitoring across the world.
I like calling it a "worldwide Kansas City move"
