一条颐和路，半部民国史【A Road Called YIHE LU Represents Half History of Republic of China 】

南京，六朝古都。

作为六国都城，它拥有的太多太多，以至于我们无法一一读懂它的所有。作为历史文化名城，它的一砖一瓦，一草一树，都勾画着人生百态，记录着前世今生。有人说，一本书就像是一个人，等书看完了，人也就走完了一生。而南京这座城，却记录着上下几千年来，所有人的一生。城里的一条路，路边的一棵树，或许曾经都上演着一个个小小的故事。路上的车，树下的人，或许曾经都出现在那些小小的故事里。

Nanjing - the ancient capital of six dynasties.

As the capital of six nations, it is hard for everyone to figure out everything what had happened to it. As a famous historical and cultural city, all bricks, tiles, grass and trees in this city picture the vicissitudes of life, record the past and present. Some people say that a book is like a person. After reading the book, you will also go through life. But the city of Nanjing is a record of all one's life for thousands of years. A road or a tree in this city may once perform short stories. And cars on the road, the man under the tree may once appear in them.

事实上，从现在的南京去追溯千年之前的足迹，已经是太难太难。除了那依旧伫立的明城墙，在大雨滂沱的季节，时不时出现“龙吐水”的奇景外，它曾经的繁华几乎已无迹可寻。现在的南京，在郁郁葱葱的法国梧桐的掩映下，端庄而又略微沧桑的民国建筑，仿佛还在沉浸于当年的绮梦。

In fact, it is hard for us to trace the footprints of Nanjing from thousands of years ago. In addition to the ancient city wall of Ming dynasty, we can never find the previous prosperity of it. Now in Nanjing, behind the lush plane trees, those dignified but run-down buildings of the Republic of China, as if they still immersed in the pleasant and romantic dream.

颐和路，这条曾经寄托无数民国梦想、承载纷繁民国历史的民国街区早已不是当年的繁华。然而每到南京，我都要抽空走上一走，渐渐地，也变成了一种习惯。在习惯成自然后，突然发现，手中的相机早已记录下这条路的春夏秋冬。

YIHE LU, a city that bearing countless dreams and histories of the Republic of China is not as prosperous as it used to be. Every time to Nanjing, I will take a walk on this road, gradually, it has become a habit. Finally, I find that my camera has recorded all sceneries of the road in all seasons.

早在上世纪50年代，著名作家张守仁就曾说过：“在我心目中，世界上没有哪条街道可以和颐和路相媲美——即使是与法国巴黎最豪华、最漂亮、气度最轩昂的香榭丽舍大街，也不能和我心中的颐和路相比。”

In the early 1950s, the famous writer Zhang Shouren once said: "In my mind, no street in the world can be compared with YIHE LU – even the most beautiful and luxurious Champs Elysees in Paris.”

颐和路的美，不单单是一个季节，它是一年四季，时时刻刻，年年岁岁。它的美是含蓄的，内敛的，它不如中山陵那般气吞山河之势，也不像玄武湖公园那般纷繁绚丽。它的美，不仅仅在它的景，更美的是生活在那里的人。

颐和路外的世界，是嘈杂的，匆忙的，而生活在这里的人，却仿佛活在另一个世界。或许你会觉得他们活的太平淡，但他们可能笑你看不穿。

The beauty of this road is not only in one season, everyday you can find different beautiful sceneries here. YIHE LU is modest and shy. Only the one who can really belong in it will feel how wonderful it is.
