A Typical Breakfast at Shanghai

in #cn7 years ago

Same as other 25 million people in this city, we start our morning with a typical breakfast like this:

Let us take a look at this typical breakfast & snack bar and check how the breakfast is made. It is a very simple front:

Signature dishes are all drawn on the wall:

Of course I ordered the soy jelly soup on the left, deep fried bread, sesame seed pastry (similar taste to croissant) and rice roll with sausage. Deep fried bread and sesame seed pastry are ready to serve, and soy jelly will serve according to your own flavor:(My pick is pickles, green unions, dried shrimp and soy sauce)

Among all the most popular and my favorite is the rice roll. Rice roll is made in front of me too. First he lay rice and all other ingredients on a bamboo mat and roll it, same procedure as making sushi.

Then use a stick to beat the roll, just to make it more compact, and done!

Taste good!

Start a morning with such a full breakfast and cozy environment, it cannot be more satisfactory:)

Looks sooo delicious!

Hello! Great post. I hope you enjoy your stay in Shanghai! :)
When I was there on a trip, I also enjoyed their food! :)
I suggest you to try Soup Dumplings or as they called it Xiao Long Bao- it is traditionally cooked with minced pork and it is SOOO delicious!
You can find it almost anywhere, but me personally tried it at Jia Jia Tang Bao ( on weekends is sooo full, so you could probably go some day during the week) and also Fuchun Xiao Long.

I agree with that! Xiao long bao is a very good choice especially for hungry people LOL :D

Good suggestion! As a resident of Shanghai I agree with you:)

That good is seen that breakfast, here in venezuela is difficult but as it is done.

In chinatown you may find it!

Looks sooo delicious! I love ❤️ that kind of food! Thanks for great pictures and good appetite before my dinner :)

My pleasure:)

What else do you like to have as breakfast?)

Emmm, that is a good suggestion for my next post:)

I'm so hungry right now...

Wow sweet food

Thanks:)

I bet you get a great start on the day with such a proper breakfast, if I had all that for breakfast I would go straight in a food coma...

This is very good... I want too... And I must see this city :))

Welcome!

I've been here before,I need to eat two serves to get full,Good taste though.

Wow such a small world!

This is a good blog about food information. I enjoyed reading the english.

Hoping that the language written below each line in english is a transalation of the foreign language because many of us steemers would not have a clue as to what the reading is.

The blog makes me hungry as I have not eaten lunch as yet. Yep.

Thank you for the advice:) I wrote the blog in both English and Chinese, and I tried my best to keep the two in the same content but at the same time fluent to read:)

I was just in Barcelona for a month. Breakfast out was coffee and a croissant (cliche but true), and occassionally at home I'd cook butter eggs with some leftover steak.

I just arrived in France yesterday (Narbonne). It looks like they do light breakfasts here too (although they start ealier).

I'll be hiking the Camino for the next two months, so I'll be seeing more of what breakfasts look like in France and Spain) when making it past the french Pyrennes and dropping back down into Spain).

I guess French people like baguette with coffee:)

That looks good!!! My Chinese friend usual just get some bao tsi(steam buns) from Family Mart. I eat fruit for breakfast. Should try that once

Buns are good too!

with zhou (congee) :)

wow...great post. feeling hungry

It does look interesting!

Thanks!

These look really delicious! Yummy!

Indeed!

WOW looks delicious!

Glad you like it:)

Great Post Thanks ! I am a big fan of Soup

Great post :D

Now THAT looks incredible! :o

Definitely going to need to travel Asia someday, if not just for the food.
