I haven't got a rain gauge but even without one I can tell you that it hasn't rained for at least two months, which is practically unheard of here. Everything's almost dead, including myself:)

I never had one either. From time to time I would think about it. When I thought about it again night before last after someone said they got 2 and a half inches at their house, I stopped and ordered one. The rain vial is glass. I'm wondering how much life it will get before that doesn't exist anymore. ha ha
Our area was shown as the driest area in the state before I went out, stood on my porch with my arms stretched out and asked for rain. I had not been out there 30 seconds before a small drop landed on my forehead. LOL...oooOOOOOooOOOoooooo..... it has rained several times since then, so not as terrible dry as before, but we really could use more.
Some time before I had seen a program where a Native American man was showing someone around and talking about old ways. He showed a spot they would go and put their arms out with their palms up and close their eyes to ask for rain. The other man asked him if he would mind telling if he had a specific thing he said in his head and he said he didn't say anything. He said they just stood quietly and imagined feeling the rain drops falling on them. When asked if it work, he said a lot of times it did, but the only thing was, you didn't get to say how much. It could be a little rain or a flood,😄 so you never quite knew what you would get. I found that a fun thought, so I did it! Maybe I should go out and do it more.
