It's November! Random Saturday....

Oh Look! I'm back again.... 😂 Let's see what I have in my bag of tricks this time.
Hope everyone survived Halloween safely. I stayed home like I said I was going too and everything went nicely. ha ....I did eat a little Candy Corn to celebrate. I know, it seems it's either a love it or hate it kind of thing, but I like it. I like it better mixed with some cocktail peanuts so it tastes like a Payday candy bar, but I didn't have any here so....just the corn.
On the way home from the dentist on Thursday afternoon, on a whim, I stopped in at Home Depot garden center and bought two little containers of pansies. I went for bright yellow and the blue that looks like periwinkle in color, but ended up getting the yellow/orange and purple instead. Yesterday I put them both in a big pot on my back porch for the winter. They are pretty hardy and can survive our winter most years. Once in a while we do get some terrible, extra deep freeze and they don't survive, but most times they do. Of course these days, the weather is a little unpredictable here anymore.

No matter though, I wanted to try them on my Winter Porch where I can see them out of the big window in my back door.

I took this from my front porch about a week ago of the little Dogwood tree. Right before I moved here, there was a big pin oak to the right of it, so it grew wonky with the left side limbs being normal and the right side limbs shorter. It's ok, it is still showy when it needs to be and I love seeing it's seasonal changes. The sun was shining from the back of the house when I took this, so the leaves on the bottom appear much deeper orange than the top, but it is all a pretty deep orange.

This little collage is what happens when I don't know what I want to do next and start randomly gluing torn paper bits from my desk. The night after, I took a fine point permanent black marked and my white paint pen and made a few dots and lines and stuff. I thought it turned out right happy.

Errrrkkkkk..... ha ha
After the dentist and after Home Depot, I stopped in Dollar General to see if they had some chrome or stainless cleaner, but they didn't so I HAD to go down the Christmas aisle. I found this mini blow mold gingerbread house that lights up. We didn't have the big blow molds at Christmas when I was growing up, but many people did. There were so many different ones back in the day. Huge peppermint candles aglow on each side of the front door or step rails, big Santa's waiving from the porches. It always takes me back when I see them.
I also got the mini gingerbread nutcracker holding a gingerbread house and a gingerbread man ornament. That may go on someone's package in the bow... who knows. The Gingy in the cup was kinda of sweet and is at least an inch thick, so it sits up straight by itself. It may be an add-in with some sort of pre-Christmas gift somewhere or with a tin of Christmas goodies. Time will tell as always.

Several nights ago I was playing at my desk and thought I should make a little bit of fall-colored collage papers. I pulled out my tiny gel print pad and made these little ones. Now I suppose I should make something with them before fall is gone and the nekkid winter trees show up all brown and brittle. Maybe tonight.....

I didn't plan to do this last night, but I was not inspired to start a next real piece of art. I still wanted to do something, paint something, glue something .... SOMETHING! Next thing you know I had my 5 x 7 gel plate out, chose a limited amount of colors and watched art vids and leftover Halloween stories while making a few pages. These were the honorable mentions. What ?? Stop laughing! They are so beautiful and colorful and besides, they don't have to be right all over since they will be torn up and pieces be used here and there or big parts of them will go down as backgrounds. Ya need some of everything kind in this business. 🤣

I am ending with this photo of some paint and ink on the gel plate. I had rolled the magenta and blues on the plate with my roller. THEN, I dripped a few drips of yellow acrylic ink on there, thinking it would just make yellow spots on the paper that I pressed down on it, but I was doing something else for a minute and when I came back the thin liquid yellow ink had pulled up some of the pinks, blues and turquoise and moved to one side of their space. I thought it was pretty, so I took a photo of it before I put the paper on top to print.
Messy... .but fun!

It's 3 pm in the afternoon now as I type this. I guess I better get back to a few fun chores 😝 bleck
Hope everyone is having a good day or evening, whatever time it is right now for you.
Love you! Mean it!

You're so artistic and creative. It must make you so happy to have such beauty around you and the motivation to create it in the first instance.

It does make me happy!

I do the adult things I have to do and then I hand the day over to my inner child. 😊 Regardless of what comes out, the process is very fun and satisfying.

Thank you for coming over, I truly appreciate it.
