Well, we are having a soccer competition every Bundesliga season. The competition itself takes place on kicktipp, but every participant needs a Hive user name. The winners at the end of the season are receiving nice prizes paid in Hive.
During the first season in addition I was upvoting the match day winners (they had to comment under the weekly post) so that also participants who couldn't win something in the overall ranking still had some motivation to keep taking part.
However, some whales felt the need to downvote these comments, which demotivated quite some participants who stopped taking part in the prediction competition and also left HIVE.
Because of that and due to other reasons, I myself am not using Hive regularly anymore and also powered down most of my Hive. Thanks to @reiseamateur who writes the weekly game day reports the competition is still alive and there are still between 30 and 40 participants every season.
I think if some active Hive users would promote the competition, the number of participants could increase again, and maybe there would be even anybody able to beat my soccer predictions for the first time? ;-)
I plan to run the competition again in August, as soon as Bundesliga starts. In my eyes this competition which is attracting quite some players every season, and @reiseamateur who composes the corresponding posts, would deserve some support.
