There are countless communities on Hive, and many of them use the old - but proven - strategy of organizing weekly or monthly contests to encourage their members to participate on a write-up topic or to engage with the community in a certain way.
These communities are usually run by community members who stepped up and created it to be the home of topics they love, and want more people to join in and share that passion with like minded people. One thing that most of the communities on Hive lacks is support for the contest they organize, not because there's a lack of support from the community, but because most of the times the prizes come out of their own pocket or from wealthy members of said community - or some times, from witnesses or popular Hivers.
There are some contests that have a ton of prizes for those who join, but these are rare and they have been part of the Hive ecosystem for a while now and have established a name for themselves, which has brought them that much needed support to run their contests for months or even years without issue.
Leo Finance wants to support the smaller communities who are struggling to maintain an attractive prize pool week after week in order to bring some eyes and attention towards their community or initiatives, and we want to do it as soon as possible!

We'll coordinate on discord to see how can we aid your community to increase your contest's prize pool, and hopefully this will help your community membership and interaction grow!

One of the primary challenges facing the Ghanaian community is the lack of assistance. It would be fantastic to welcome all Ghanaians to participate in competitions and other activities in the hive ecosystem. This is a fantastic initiative! as @jfuji mentioned in another comment Scholar and Scribe would love to be able to offer more attractive prizes for the creative writing contests we operate regularly.
We have partnered with WOO, HashKings, and Cryptoshots so far for lore contests focused on their in game NFT's and have a variety of other contests and giveaways periodically run by either committed community members or myself. We recently onboarded with OCD for curation through their community incubation program and have been steadily gaining subscribers and authors that regularly post in the community. We plan to continue to build use cases for our tokens and extend Scholar and Scribes reach to other ecosystems to help on board users to HIVE. A recent partnership with PageDAO has begun to build links with projects on other chains!

Well, we are having a soccer competition every Bundesliga season. The competition itself takes place on kicktipp, but every participant needs a Hive user name. The winners at the end of the season are receiving nice prizes paid in Hive.
During the first season in addition I was upvoting the match day winners (they had to comment under the weekly post) so that also participants who couldn't win something in the overall ranking still had some motivation to keep taking part.
However, some whales felt the need to downvote these comments, which demotivated quite some participants who stopped taking part in the prediction competition and also left HIVE.
Because of that and due to other reasons, I myself am not using Hive regularly anymore and also powered down most of my Hive. Thanks to @reiseamateur who writes the weekly game day reports the competition is still alive and there are still between 30 and 40 participants every season.
I think if some active Hive users would promote the competition, the number of participants could increase again, and maybe there would be even anybody able to beat my soccer predictions for the first time? ;-)
I plan to run the competition again in August, as soon as Bundesliga starts. In my eyes this competition which is attracting quite some players every season, and @reiseamateur who composes the corresponding posts, would deserve some support.
