The carpenter got an early start and brought in the sheetrock he’d need to do the workshop walls on one side. I had gotten the young man from down the street to help get the sheetrock downstairs and to move heavy things up and downstairs.
The 2 of them got the rock up and the first coat of mud started by noontime.
On return trips they brought the heavy stuff that will be stored in the bedroom.
The old back door was taken out of the laundry room to the root cellar. It is an insulated door and will be used there. Slowly the laundry room is emptying out.
The electrician was out and put a subpanel in the workshop.
He also got the lights run in the workshop. He will be out on Friday to run the outlets.
On Friday I have 2 helpers coming and we are going to empty the workshop out. We will move the stuff for the house that’s in there and the rod shop stuff into the freezer room.
Hopefully by the end of the day, the workshop will be set up, have electrical, and be functional.
Last night Lowes called and said the contract for the countertops had expired. They’d tried to refund the deposit, but put it onto the credit card that was compromised last week. It had been closed. So I have to sign a new contract and so the countertops are delayed again.
Congratulations, your post has been selected to be included in my weekly Sustainability Curation Digest for the Minnow Support Project.
