Day 23 - Lockdown in a Construction Zone

in #coronavirus6 years ago (edited)

My tiny house is surrounded by frantic construction building a useless "roundabout", while the rest of town is forced to halt all non-essential activity and shelter in place. I can barely leave here, with threats of fines or prison time if I don't socially isolate enough, but the noise and vibration is so bad in my house, I can't hear myself think! My disabled wife and 6 month old baby's health are deteriorating!

So cannabis, to treat your PTSD, is declared non-essential, and you can't get it anymore.
Meanwhile, construction of a useless roundabout, which is aggravating your insomnia, is declared essential and will continue until you lose your mind and your house rattles to pieces.

For 3 months, the media and govt shamed people for wearing masks, saying they were only useful in hospital situations. Now they're saying masks are vital for preventing transmission and associated deaths. They basically admitted that they spread the disease with their bad advice, and got people killed! How much of the ensuing pandemic can be directly attributed to this massive blunder, if that's really what it was?

You would think if they are locking you down they should be stopping construction work that is not very essential. Hope you get some piece and quite soon.
