China registered 16 new cases of covid- 19, in the last 24 hours, including seven hours of local contagion, the country's Health Commission reported today.
The Asian country thus maintains the downward trend in the number of infected people, after a significant increase at the beginning of the week, mainly of imported cases, mainly Chinese citizens who entered the province of Heilongjiang, in the northeast of China, from Russia.
Among local contagion cases, six were detected in Heilongjiang and one in Guangdong province, adjacent to Macau.
Until 23: 59 collapsed, there were no new mortal victims. The country thus reduced the number of "active" infected people back to 1. 041, including 85 in serious condition.
The total number of infected people diagnosed in China since the beginning of the pandemic is 82. 735, including 4. 632 dead. Until now, 77.029 people were discharged.
The Chinese authorities reported that 724. 850 people who had close contact with infected were under medical surveillance in China, among which 8. 632 remain under observation.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December in Wuhan, a city in central China. Globally, the covid pandemic - 19 has already sparked more than 158 thousand killed and infected more than 2.2 million people in 193 countries and territories.
Over 502 1,000 patients were considered cured.
