Brisbane Heat batted first after winning the toss, and started the inning not very well, apart from Colin Munro, Jimmy Peirson, and Xavier Bartlett no batsman could play well, Colin Munro played a brilliant inning of 43 runs with the help of 1 six and 3 boundaries in 47 balls, Jimmy Peirson scored 27 runs in 24 balls, and Xavier Bartlett played a brilliant unbeaten quick inning of 28 runs with the help of 4 boundaries in just 17 balls, Max Bryant dismissed just for 1 run, Matt Renshaw 9 runs, Sam Billings 1 run, Ross Whiteley 8 runs, and Michael Neser dismissed without scoring. In this way, Brisbane Heat scored 121 runs after losing 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and set a target of 122 runs in front of Sydney Thunder.
