Yesterday when I was spilling my nonsense through Steemit Something surprising happened. A fellow Steemian @heymattsokol decided to write a counter argument article about my latest article titled I Hate Every Aspect Of Social Media . I was really happy about is because I always advocate the idea that Criticism is one of the biggest tool for improvement and it is a good way of communication.
Criticism is a Way of Communication
Well in my first months in Steemit you can see me nagging about Why is this place like Alice in Wonderland ? I didn't see any criticism only thing I saw was the praises and that bothered me little. Finally I got a criticism yesterday. If someone has a criticism for you that isn't something bad. They want to improve the work you provided for them. There is a thin line between argument and criticism however constructive criticism can be beneficial for both parties. It might give you the idea about your product , audience way of thinking. Well I saw a lot of people discussing sofar and I didn't see anyone changing their ideas however with constructive criticism you can find a middle way and create a collective thinking style with the positive ideas from both parties. Obviously that is a great way to develop a more complex way of thinking.
Don't Take it Personally
Well Criticism is an art of communication. However it is pretty hard to take it. I can guarantee that taking a criticism personally will never end up good for you. A single outburst can cause severe damages in your reputation or it might affect your project , work. The language you going to use in your response is really important. Because if you want to create a good criticism enviroment for sharing some ideas using a positive language is always better. Overall I'm really glad that I finally get some counter argument . Ya this place can be a little too agreeable sometimes... but that maybe is to be expected, when you get lots of conspiracy-type people together, they can all get excited to agree with each other.
I hope over time to see even more constructive conversations on Steemit. It'll make this place even better.

Being able to give criticism without being a dick is just as important as taking it. Unfortunately, very few people possess this skill.

It would much better if the criticism comes with suggestions as well then it is become constructive. It's an art of communication.
