Is Propy ICO worth it?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Hey Steemers,

what do you think about this Propy that have the ICO in 2 days, anyone checked in deep their Business model / code and team?

Propy has been building a decentralized, global property store. This online store will rely on Propy Registry, built on ethereum blockchain to track global real estate ownership, as well as PRO, a utility token to enable the development of a thriving, self-sustaining ecosystem around this database and token holders.

Here is a video of their demo

I think real estate is a very conservative industry and blockchain is a very long term shot. They did a Q&A session on medium here https://blog.propy.com/propy-frequently-asked-questions-19a4c6fdd09c but i am not really sure about their great answer. One of that was about how really the token ecosystem will work and here is their answer in medium:

What does a token represent in this network? As all blockchains mediate public engagement with the database, for Propy Registry to successfully function as a decentralized source of validation for real estate ownership, Propy is introducing Propy Utility Tokens to ensure sincere engagement with the blockchain. The Property Contract, allows users to write new titles to Propy Registry, or change ownerships of the existing titles, for a fee that is payable in PRO. Ongoing transactions will always require Tokens and ⅔ of fees paid in PRO tokens. will be redistributed to our network growth pool, used to incentivize the engagement of users in the platform. The demand in the real estate market is immense. There are 2.5 billion households and we need our network to onboard their properties and address the needs of the growing populations so that they can transact their real estate assets . The process of onboarding new homebuyers and properties means that PRO tokens will be needed to facilitate transactions between the parties .

Would be awesome to have some feedback from you cryptocurrency experts.

happy steeming

They got a really bad vibe. Too corporate!
For the pre-ICO they wanted 50k minimum donation (per user)

did you invested at the end? I am still undecided!
what you think about rivets?

I'm no expert on blockchain or programming but I do see the disruptive potential that blockchains have to streamline many industries. Title registry, identity validation, and medical records are just a few use cases that in the future COULD greatly benefit from blockchains. As I see it everything is in it's infancy right now so everything is a longshot. No one knows what's going to happen but if blockchains are one day adopted by public and private industry then a project like this is very likely to have great success. It may not be this project, but for me it was worth a couple ether to board the roller coaster. Never invest more than you can afford to lose and HODL!!!!!

That right fuzzy! Never invest more than you can afford to lose! You said it right! I just wonder why there are not a lot project in the field of real estate for example. The industry is still very conservative i think.
