What are your consideration before investing in a coin? is it because their project that change the world? is it because they promise you 100% gain? is it because they have a cool logo? promising leader? Well whatever your reason are please do your own research before investing in any alternative coins or project. Don't just invest because the FOMO- fear of missing out which some will try to use so you buy their coin. Here are some phase I've maybe been through and notice throughout my journey. Do these sounds familiar to you?
Pick a coin from a friend's recommendation or famous people.
Researching the coin you pick, only happens once in a bluemoon, youtube commentary is better than reading.
Follow their social media religiously for information on partnership with famous people which sometime later that famous people deny that.
Follow numerous cryptocurrency twitter account to know if yours is popular enough.
Influence your peers with FOMO tactics so they join you.
Call yourself Cryptocurrency trader even you have no idea of what you did.
Diversify your portfolio by buying more alternative coins without reading their whitepaper cause they seem to be partnering with famous people.
Refreshing the Market every second.
Panic sell because Telegram Group says so.
All coin sold, rinse and repeat.

When i 1st started i just picked some coins that were cheap and looked interesting. XVG, LINDA. XVG has payed off well for me, Linda not so much as yet. Then i heard about some other coins and did my research. I like coins that has real world potential even if they are in it's infancy. BAT, CVC, SIA some coins just makes sense, and some don't.
@babarakas43 I have yet to see Linda, I wonder which coin that is :-D I normally check one that has a real product instead only speculations.
Look up @lindaproject on twitter or linda on coinmarketcap. They just announced they are going to make a platform similar to ETH and ERC20 tokens called Linda X. Where you can store all coins on there network. Price is pretty cheap at the moment 17 sats.
