'Pac Tokens', A Cryptocurrency Backed By Filipino Boxing Legend To Be Launched This Year Or Early 2019

A Singapore-based blockchain startup is in progress to launch a cryptocurrency that is backed by a Filipino boxing legend and this is non other than Manny Pacquiao.

Global Crypto Offering Exchange (GCOX) is a blockchain platform based in Singapore. GCOX is also claiming to be the world's first blockchain platform that "tokenises popularity" in such a way that it helps celebrities to create their own crypto tokens that can be used by fans to buy their products and services in general.

The Pac Tokens according to the Chief Communications Officer of GCOX,Mr Evan Ngow, are likely to be introduced before the sunset of this year or early 2019. Manny Pacquiao who signed up with the platform in March 2018 is also a Senator of the Phillipines.

Manny's fans will be able to use Pac Tokens to buy his merchandise such as used jackets and gloves. GCOX's COO, says that they are still in negotiations with Manny's team regarding the volume and value of the tokens for the initial coin offerings as well as waiting for the Phillipines' Securities and Exchange Commission to make its final rules regarding the ICOs.

The list of celebrities to have signed up with the platform include, English football legend Michael Owen, American singer Jason Derulo and lately to join is a Danish female tennis player by the names of Caroline Wozniacki who is also world's number two.
