The word has gained such a stigma here in Iceland that i dont think it would matter if you said "Ad" or "Rape" Both
would be counted as equally invasive of one's privacy and personal life.
Marketers seem to try to accommodate to this by "home presentations" or"booked "events" where the advertisers, (seekers of selling service) make sure inevery way that the "guest" (client), is there to enjoyy" and receive only gifts.
There might be some "light advertising"....
