"What is this woman rambling about now," you may think, looking at the title of this Manifestation post.
No worries: I'll explain what I mean in a bit.
Most people don't really have a clue about what Manifestation truly entails, unless they've experienced it.
Who doesn't remember the words some people would say to their children, or teachers to their pupils in school:
"You can be anything you want to be, as long as you set your mind to it."
Yes, I've also heard these words before.
But then life got in the middle of things, and I realized I couldn't be a bird or a mermaid after-all.
Just kidding.
But really, admit it: there was a time in every child's life when they either wanted to be a mermaid(merman), a wizard, have a witches' broom, or a flying carpet, right?
How cool would that be?
What happened, that we stopped believing in magic? In our incredible capabilities to create the life we want to see, feel, and live.
I can tell you: Lies, is what happened.
Now, I will say right off the bat that it will not be possible to turn oneself into a mermaid.
Or conjure up a magic broom or carpet.
If you find a way to do this, please let me know, I'd be interested.
However, we are capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for.
It would be a long story to explain exactly how and why we lost these capabilities, and it might get a bit political. Something I don't really want to get into right now.
So: lies...
Which lies?
As a child, you believed in magic. I'm not saying all did. But most.
Then the story of Santa came along (again, not all, but lots of people have been there).
For years, you believed in something that didn't exist. And then, without warning, the truth came out. Maybe you were 4, or 5, or 8. But eventually, you knew the truth.
After a lie like that, it's very hard to trust the magic.
Believe in magic. Or better: that things can come into your life as if by magic.
(Don't feel guilty. I, too, have told my kids the lies of Santa, for all the wrong reasons)
Unless you have a parent who will teach their children about these capabilities.
And better even: show them...
I will give a little example. I know I've told this story before but it's a while ago, so here we go again:
In 2008, my then partner, my daughter (who was 6 at the time), and I were planning a trip to Belize. Partly for business.
We needed to renew my daughter's passport but through something that had happened since the last time she had one, and due to an overreaching agent at city hall, where we had to apply for it, it became impossible to get the passport done.
Now, you have to understand that in the Netherlands, the government workers are very much following protocol, and regulations. If there's a decision, they stick to it.
The only way for us to get that passport now, was by going through court, or get the father's signature. Who was MIA at that time.
But we were supposed to leave for Belize in the next two weeks!
The situation was hopeless. There was an almost zero % chance that we'd get it in time.
Then, because of something that had happened, I was called into the office at the city hall.
It's not really important what it was for but let's just say I had gotten really angry with the woman there...
Before we went into the office, my daughter and I had talked about the passport.
I told her the truth: We needed a miracle. Magic!
She asked me what she could do.
So I told her: "Maybe you can ask that the passport will happen."
When she asked me who she'd ask, I didn't quite know what to say exactly, because I don't think 'the universe' would have been understood. But she loved fairies, so I blurted out:
"Fairies, ask the fairies to help us!"
Anyway. I went to that office, and talked.
I explained my situation, how we didn't get the passport although there was no reason, other than their 'protocol', and that I felt a bit hopeless that someone who didn't know us, decided to make that call. She'd put it on the record, so there was no way around it now.
The two men, one was the location manager, the other the direct office manager, agreed. There was no way we would get the passport, other than going through court, which could take months...
Until, by some miracle, one of them looked at the papers in front of him again, and somehow found a loophole in their own system that made it possible to get the passport done after all.
Incredible!
We had the documents filed ten minutes later, and a week later we had the passport...
Because of this, my daughter didn't all of a sudden believe that Fairies helped us.
However, she did believe, that if we want it enough, it can, and will, happen.
Like Magic...
How to Own what you ask for
We tend to make life more complicated than it has to be.
When I decided to move us to Mexico, I didn't really have a plan.
I even asked people to stop asking me when we were leaving because it got me off track, and I had changed the dates a few times.
But all that time, I knew that we were going, and lived like it.
I started packing our things before I cleared out most of the house...
I started buying suitcases, and summer clothes.
Then, in September, I set the date: We'd leave in November.
I wasn't even close to having all the funds to make it happen.
We were here in November.
It's because I trusted that it would, and I trusted that everything would fall into place.
Meanwhile I wrote in my different notebooks but not as much as usual.
Once I set the clear intent that we were going, I started acting like it. And so it happened.
Simple.
Set your intent.
Ask for what you want, exactly.
Feel grateful for what you have, and what's to come as if it's already happening.
Let the universe do the work for you.
Trust!
That's really all you need to do.

For the reminder I needed, to keep my focus on my personal goal. I have set my intent at the beginning of this year. I have asked for what I want exactly. I am acting like that is going to happen. And now I need to trust the universe.
Ask me in a year from now if it happened!
100%. It is interesting, the art of manifestation. I have found that for myself there is a certain peace I need to embody in order to be able to see and/or hear that which is put in my path. Fear and worry are an absolute disconnect from that collective consciousness. I will do things that make people scratch their heads or worse shake them and all I can do is shrug as I too may not have anything more than a working theory why I chose a certain path or acted in a way peculiar to my norm.
