RE: Community Curator Compilation #81

in #curation • 20 days ago (edited)

You're welcome, friend.
A suggestion: avoid tagging people like that in a group, especially when you don't know them. Even if your intention is to thank them or encourage them.

On HIVE, this kind of tagging can be interpreted as a call for votes.

I can tell you that my only downvote was given to me precisely because I tagged all the community members who had helped me the most.
Thanking them for my 1-month stay (I repeat, one month) was a fatal mistake.

Remember, there’s a human being behind every keyboard. And not everyone thinks like we do; they may judge all our actions from different perspectives. Keep that in mind, because you’re a good person.

Thank you so much for this, @cryptoreforma — really appreciate you taking the time to explain it, and I'm sorry to hear that happened to you over something so well-intentioned. 🙏

You're absolutely right, and it's a great reminder: on Hive, a wall of tags can easily be read the wrong way, even when the intention is 100% gratitude and nothing else. I'll definitely keep this in mind for future comments — better to celebrate people without turning it into something that could look like fishing for votes.

Thanks again for the kind words and for looking out for a Hive new-newbie like me. Lessons like this are exactly why this community is special. 🌱

You're welcome.
The mistakes of some can serve as a lesson for others. Especially those who have recently joined.

fatal's a bit exaggerated lol

Fatal because it resulted in a downvote.

and it killed you?

What I said was that my mistake was fatal, it caused a downvote. I didn't mean that the downvote was fatal for me.
I was referring to the mistake, there are no consequences.

Sure, I fondly remember one user downvoting you, my point is it's not that big of a deal to get downvoted to use terms such as "fatal mistakes". Nothing happened to your hive journey, you've been doing well ever since.

Yes, without a doubt. Writing in one language and asking for a translation into another can lead to misinterpretations. There's no problem with that. It was actually positive, as it allows me to inform others.
