An auspicious beginning! After just one day on the keto plan I’ve lost two pounds (I know, I know, it’s probably water but I take my wins where I can find them)! But in delving back into the “literature” (what?! YouTube totally counts as scholarly research!), I was reminded that a frequent companion to a keto diet when used for fat loss is Intermittent Fasting (IF).
Now, IF and I are old friends. I have tried everything from a 16 hour fasting / 8 hour feeding schedule to basically a One Meal A Day (OMAD) plan with a 2 hour feeding window. So let me tell you what I learned. I learned that any diet approach that includes the phrase, “And then you can eat as much you want” does not work for me. I can defy the laws of physics and biology with the amount of calories I can consume in a very short period of time. But as a booster, a supplement to my strict keto plan, well, it’s crazy but it just might work!
So now I am only eating keto and only during an 8 hour feeding window between noon and 8pm. Let’s see if this boost of metabolic nitro gets my old jalopy (by which I mean my basal metabolic rate) up and running again! 🏎️
