Hey all, @foreveraverage here. As of now auto posting (default posts) on Hive is disabled. I want to get a bit more into depth to what led to this decision.
I've always believed that a stream is your content, unique in its own way. However, the Hive blockchain - or Steem and Blurt - simply isn’t optimized around (live) video content. This means it’s ultimately the community that sets the standards and decides how to enforce them.
Recently, I’ve received several DMs from streamers who were flagged (downvoted), so I’ve decided to be disable the auto-posting feature on Hive altogether.
While the majority of our streamers are amazing people that put lots of effort, time and money into their hobby, I understand that automatic posting can be abused. Something that’s become more noticeable in recent weeks. The feature was originally meant to help streamers focus on their content without extra hassle. Streaming takes a lot of time and effort beyond what viewers see: preparing, reviewing analytics, improving content, and more.
That said, a unwanted side effect is that the same system also enables low-effort content like AFK streams or quick on/off toggles just to trigger posts. The only real way to prevent that would be constant quality control, which simply isn’t realistic given the project’s scale.
I prefer to be proactive and disable auto-posts on Hive altogether. While this might have a short-term impact on Dagamers' growth, I believe it’s the right step towards growth and a healthier community in the long run. Hopefully, this will also create room to welcome many new faces over time and collaborate with other communities or projects.
Note: Auto-posting on Steem and Blurt will remain active for now. If your Twitch stream generates a post on either of those platforms, you’ll automatically enter a 6-hour cooldown.
Happy streaming!
thats why i made system mine can still autopost but only autopost if past 8 hours like how vimm used do back then. but same time even if anyone on nekolive gets infected by this too then all i need do change 8h to like 24 hours but far a seen no one in nekolive never got downvoted because its is community project like VIMM has. so not sure why you all have this issue but hope does resolved.
plus since NekoLive featured in dapps threw hive category too so i will might expect this issue needs tweeking if needs to be. and since havent check anything yet see anyone facing this issue because hasnt been mention threw discord server so if ppl do start using nekolive i recommended just let me know if i need tweek things. all take edit config file and boom longer cooldown and etc.
The auto post was first 6 hours as well, then I changed it to 24 hours. It's great that you find a way to do it but for me it still didn't feel right for me. Especially the last weeks I felt that a small minority of new users where abusing the system, and I don't want a few rotten apples represent the absolute legends that are using dagamers right now ;)
To be clear, I never felt that @hivewatchers, @buildawhale, @adm, @themarkymark or others were or are targeting Dagamers. I got Dagamers whitelisted at Hivewatchers a while back when I explained what the project was. They were never difficult about it, nor did I get the feeling that they weren't constructive.
Rather, they have their eyes set on individuals who are exhibiting suspicious posting behaviour, which is normal. It is simply impossible for me to check everyone's stream who makes content through Dagamers. However, I can ensure that I do not facilitate features that go against the community's rules. Therefore, I have decided to disable the feature altogether for Hive.
I see Dagamers as a front end for blockchains optimised for streaming. The challenge and goal is to provide users with an experience that feels natural for streaming while not breaking any blockchain rules where the stream is shared.
@dagamers
A group of farmers popped up recently. They all seem to know each other and/or are sock puppet accounts owned by a few.
All accounts have no followers on Twitch, and all (except "captainman") have had no engagement with the Hive community.

When there is a new way to exploit some curation, abusers are always very fast in getting on a new farming possibility.
There seem to be Facebook and WhatsApp groups where they share information about new farming ways on Hive.
This also has the added effect of making it so people have to go on the site more often to make the post! I assume we do it with the 1 time post system as normal.
Yeah, with the winter period coming up there are often more people that want to stream, so I'm not worried. Exactly, the 1 time post is the way to go for Hive
Solid decision. The time investment to write a quick post before streaming is minimal for anyone putting real effort into their content. This should effectively filter out low-effort spam while nudging quality standards in the right direction. Short-term friction, but better for the community's long-term health.
Keep up the good work!
Indeed. Further I hope that we can get the attention of some Hive games to collaborate with. Partnerships like that can easily be a win-win
hmmmm hopefully you find a way around it. as usual people that abused something kind of ruined it for everybody ;/
I really don't think that in the long term this will have much negative impact. On the contrary if this enables more active streamers that will naturally result into more engagement :)
well I think there's other ways to do it. maybe you can make a platform like twitch but on hive. people can use their vote to buy gifts and gift streamer while they are streaming and have a live chat. I think this would be better than the autoposting and makes it probably more interactive as there's no live interaction if it's just a post. you know what I mean
I checked out some of the posts, and what bothers me is actually that the streams are not saved, you have to watch it live. In the end all posts just look the same, like spam, since the actual content doesn't exist anymore.
