I have a friend that is convinced that the president won't leave office if he is beaten in this election or in 4 more years. Interesting concept.
I'd wonder if the military would support such a thing? Each and every member took an oath to 'preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of these United States against all enemies foreign and domestic'. For some of us, at least, a solemn oath is a big deal and not to be given up on.

Which is quite possible, if no else submits an entry.
A solemn oath is a big deal to me so count me in on "some of us".
If I were a gambling man though, I'd wager that probably over 95% of the people take an oath to defend the Constitution have never even read it.
So I am right there with you on wondering.
