I have always took care of the critters.
I am the only one in my family who is allergic to all the animals, but i was the only one who would feed them, pet them, brush them. From Cows, to horses, to chickens to dogs.
Our family dog was often never played with, accept by me.
And i would pay for it with rashes that needed a thorough cleaning before the cleared up.
The horses were just for show.
I was the only one who saddled them
And my pony, the only animal that was really mine was sold, because he was a bit mean.
So, i understand the feeling when... "its her ducks"
If i got chickens again, and i probably will, i will work out a way that the chickens can get into the coop, but the coop locks itself up at night, and opens automatically in the morning.
And thanks for considering me for the HIVE
You are most welcome on the HIVE. Luckily I have no allergies that I know of so taking care of the animals has never been an issue for me that would cause me some issues. My only issue is the "responsibility" issue and she committed to take care of them. I don't mind taking care of them every now and then but I also don't want her getting in the habit of relying on me to do it.
I like roasted duck, so I will make sure they are good and plump just in case worse comes to worse.
