A Dash of Sult N Papper 06/06/20> How ‘ya doin’…win any HIVE lately?

Yes, it's Saturday...

Yes, it’s Saturday and we know what that means, right? Yep, that’s right; at least three people or going to win some of HIVE before I get done with Dash. But before I do that I need to do some house cleaning as I call it, you know … clean up any messes I might have made during the previous week and maybe just a couple things that are family related.

Looking back at...

Looking back at the previous Dashes from this week I really don’t think I made any glaring mistakes and I don’t believe I may have pissed anybody off that I might need to consider apologizing too.

Notice I said “consider’ because chances are that is about as far as it would go. Rarely if ever do I apologize for something I’ve said or write. I steer clear of “fighting words” for the most part because at my age I pretty much have all my fighting behind me now.

There was a day though that I enjoyed a good fist fight. Fist fighting I guess has gone by the wayside; nowadays it seems that the young folks need a pistol to settle their arguments.

That needing a...

That needing a pistol probably stems from the fact the schools don’t tolerate fighting any longer. You can’t even fight back if you weren’t the one who started the fight. Here the schools suspend all participants who are involved in a fight. So I can see the young folks not knowing how to fight and just “packing a heater” so they can at least have a chance if they run into trouble.

I guess there is no such thing as an “all around education” in public schools any longer.

Plus seeing that...

Plus seeing that even the schools here have their own police departments the kids get to see armed officer’s everyday acting tough because they have that gun. There may be some subliminal message being communicated that the schools and politicians are missing by exposing the kids to guns on an everyday basis.

When I was in school there wasn’t any school police and the only time you would see one or two was at the football games. Mainly they were there just to keep the adults under control, to many folks like to have a few beers in the parking lot before the game.

So let's move...

So let’s move on. The church has announced the day that Shortie gets confirmed into the church, which will be on June 20th. She has been going “back and forth” on this confirmation business. One day she says “screw it” and I really can’t blame her.

She isn’t pleased that the church has decided to cut the age down and now her confirmation class is double the size of previous years. Now the church says it will take too long to have it with the Sunday church service so they are doing it on a Saturday.

Not only that but they have lumped in first communion with which used to be a separate “special” event too. Then her mother talks with her and calms her down and talks back into it.

I told Shortie...

I told Shortie the other the night that she needs to make up her own mind. She can always get confirmed at a later time and don’t give in just to get along.

Her oldest brother didn’t get confirmed when he was of the age of confirmation. He is 22 years old now and just did get confirmed last week in a “virtual confirmation” seeing how the church is still not open for Sunday services. He waited until he was an adult and made the decision on his own to take the classes and become a member.

Personally I’m hoping Shortie holds out because I don’t agree with how the church is doing a lot of things lately. Plus the church has said that everyone attending the confirmation service must wear a face mask. You know how I feel about that.

Shortie is about the only reason I will put one on. I told her that if you gets confirmed I will have a “protest message” on my face mask. I think that it’ll say, “ .gov is God now?”

The wife isn’t happy with my plan but Shortie said she loves it. I also thought about getting a pair a new panties and using that as a face mask. The holes for legs make great openings for your ears. I saw a picture of a young lady with the panties on her head and I busted out laughing over it.

So those are the two options as far as I’m concerned.

On the poker...

On the poker front I think we have nine days left in the Team Up tournament and it is over.

Actually it is “over” right now, the only thing left to figure out is just had badly the final ass whopping will be as the Three Kings team had over a 400 point lead over second place.

I’ve even abandoned the “duck it” strategy may as well not let an opportunity to win HIVE go by. Speaking of winning HIVE; let’s give some away right now.

This week's HIVE...

This week’s HIVE winners are a few folks who have poking around the Dash lately and I do appreciate that; so @builderofcastles , @mineopoly , @holbein81 are my choices. Thanks folks for the support.

It is getting late, I still need to answer a couple of replies from yesterday’s Dash and I need to put the ducks in their roost for the night before it gets dark. Me and Blondie need to have a talk pretty soon because for the ducks being “hers” I sure am having to do a lot of the work with them.

Until next time,
Sult

I've always said that if face masks were made mandatory, I would wear a "grim reaper" mask, and with England making them mandatory for public transport (which luckily I don't need to use) and our Dear Leader in Scotland muttering about them, I actually looked up grim reaper masks online. Some of them looked really scary and I don't want to give anyone a heart attack, especially not someone who might be really worried about getting sick. So maybe the panties might be a better idea, and I like the idea of a subversive message, like "Pants to politicians" maybe.

I have always took care of the critters.
I am the only one in my family who is allergic to all the animals, but i was the only one who would feed them, pet them, brush them. From Cows, to horses, to chickens to dogs.

Our family dog was often never played with, accept by me.
And i would pay for it with rashes that needed a thorough cleaning before the cleared up.

The horses were just for show.
I was the only one who saddled them
And my pony, the only animal that was really mine was sold, because he was a bit mean.

So, i understand the feeling when... "its her ducks"

If i got chickens again, and i probably will, i will work out a way that the chickens can get into the coop, but the coop locks itself up at night, and opens automatically in the morning.

And thanks for considering me for the HIVE

You are most welcome on the HIVE. Luckily I have no allergies that I know of so taking care of the animals has never been an issue for me that would cause me some issues. My only issue is the "responsibility" issue and she committed to take care of them. I don't mind taking care of them every now and then but I also don't want her getting in the habit of relying on me to do it.
I like roasted duck, so I will make sure they are good and plump just in case worse comes to worse.

Thanks for keeping in touch and the Hive. Enjoy your Sunday. Shorty got confirmed?

Shortie gets confirmed on the 20th of this month if she decides to go through with it. You are more than welcome on the HIVE. Enjoy your Sunday as well, thanks.
