RE: Controlled: Blind, deaf, dumb

Actually, the vast majority of people can't see beyond the existence of authority. I believe for a reason or another it is merged with the feeling of security, belonging and stability. I don't know if the need of authority with that it has is something that is coded in our genes as humans or not. If so it would be impossible to throw away the need for it away and the only way is to bring to authority those who work only for people and don't get swayed by it which I believe is completely difficult. I don't mean to be disappointing but the existence of authority might be part of our experience like many other negative things we have to deal with.

On the other hand if the authority was something people are conditioned to need, There would be a light at the end of the tunnel but it would require a major shift in perception and a successful model to provide to the masses.

Sort:

the feeling of security, belonging and stability.

yes. in those small groups there was this in-built to the community aspect of it. An individual was nothing without the group. now, the individual is classed as above the group and autonomy sought but, the sense of security, belonging and stability is still needed and an authority steps in. If that makes sense - it is late :)

@alignment to answer your question now that I have given it more thought
The was a society long ago that did not have a government . what they had was regional Judges that you could take issue up with . That society wanted to be like all the others so they elected a king . Then over time all the problems came with it and they were pretty much destroyed from bad government .

I think I know of the society to which you are referring, and if I could go a step further with it, the society I'm thinking about wanted a king because at the lowest level, it would be easier on them. They wouldn't have to think as much, participate as much, even if it meant giving up freedoms and potentially being ruled by bad kings, which is exactly what happened. They essentially traded away their freedom because, in the end it was too much work to maintain it. And they could get away with a lot more, too. At least for awhile. And then they paid for it in the end.

Yes thank you for the extra information . I was not to sure on the motivation behind it . Better to leave it off then stating an error .
greed and laziness

I think there were probably more, but laziness, greed and basically wanting to be like everyone else would be the motivators in my opinion.

Well, yeah, it's definitely easier to add on than it is to retract. There have been quite a variety of different governments that have been tried throughout history, and in the end, the founding fathers adopted some of it from a wide range of civilizations, created some others, and then put it all together.

And yet, even they knew that it would not last long if the people weren't informed, engaged and of higher moral standing. Let any of those three go, and the government topples. So, here we are, trying to fire up a worldwide cryptocurrency on a decentralized blockchain to circumvent all of the oppressive authority that exists to some degree in all of our sovereign nations.

oh what fun .
I have found that eventually people find a way around or through oppression . sometimes it's for the better other times you get something worse .
Time will tell as it always does

Small groups are getting bigger and merge with each other. Besides, if not, They were fighting each other, taking salves out of their wars. There should have been a way to organize the interaction between each others.

I really believe we are more fit in small groups and this makes the solution of small groups seems good one.

The problem with small groups is that they can't solve large problems. WE can't go backwards now, only forward so we have to find a way to carry the small groups into a future where they can communicate and cooperate effectively to face the global issues. A challenge to be sure.

Reorganizing large groups to smaller ones seems inapplicable right now, besides it had became impossible for individuals to compromise their individuality and freedom in order to belong to a small society that provides them with safety and stability. As you have just said we can't move backward.
