Another easy peasy Asian dessert recipe I would love to share, 'Matcha green bean balls in ginger tea'. A chewy rice dough ball filled with ground green bean. Not too sweet.. Served in a bowl of sweeten ginger tea. A bit sweet, a bit spicy but warm your heart <3
Ingredients:
- Glutinous rice flour
- Sugar
- green beans
- Ginger or ginger powder
- Matcha green tea powder
First prepare the dough
This one, there's not really a fixed ratio. I just keep on adding water into the flour while kneading it. Once the dough sticks together and the outside looks shiny, that's when you know it's done. Oh wait, matcha gives a little aroma if you like.
Bean paste filling
Soak the beans overnight. Boil till it's soft. Drain the water and mash it. Put in a ton of sugar, like, literally. Both to give it sweetness and to make the beans stick together.
Wait till cool down then make little bean balls. I left it out for too long so it's a bit hard and dry.
Wrap the filling in the matcha dough
As easy as it sounds. Don't forget to sprinkle some flour to not make it stick to a plate or your hand afterward.
Boil!
Boil all the rice dough balls until they float. Take out right away and rinse with water real quick. Served in a bowl of ginger tea...
So yummi 😍😍
