Creating a new project | #01

in #dev5 years ago (edited)

A very quick introduction...

It was around a year ago I started my journey in discovering my love for development, web development to be precise. I studied and studied to try and teach myself as much as possible.  I picked up the basics very quickly and before I knew it I was building simple sites and starting to learn as much Javascript as I could.

Fast forward to present time and I'm sitting here at 530am(the time I wrote this) at my desk at work ready to start the day mega early as a Web developer. A position I've held now for a little over 9 months. In just a couple of months of dedication, I managed to land myself a job doing what I love doing.

I've built & learned some great things in the last 9 months but I've now decided to take the leap and learn a new codebase. I wanted to delve into backend a little more and that leads me to Laravel;

Laravel is a PHP framework and is such a powerful piece of kit, I'm started my journey in learning the basics and understanding how I can build full-stack web applications.

That leads me to this post...

I've set my self the goal in creating a new project, the aim/end goal is to have a fully working web application. Even if it is just for myself and my portfolio and something I can potentially grow upon as I learn more.

I'll update you more on what my ideas are for the project in my next post, but I decided to document the process here on Steemit. I've been so inactive over the last 9 months and it's not a coincidence that this has happened the same time I landed my new job. Being a developer has taken over my life and finding time after work/gym/family is next to impossible...

But I'm trying :)

Great to hear the new(ish) job is keeping you busy and captivated - it's cool when you love what you do. Looking to future posts - I've not been around too much recently so have a few to catch up on.
