Diabetes inheritance - is it more often obtained from the father or mother?

in #diabetes4 years ago

The onset of diabetes is influenced by many factors, especially when it comes to type 2. Some of these are lifestyle, diet, overweight, stress, but also genetic predisposition. How much influence each of the factors will have varies from person to person. When it comes to diabetes, patients have many questions about the lifestyle they need to lead, and one of the most common is the impact it can have on offspring.

In some families, diabetes mellitus occurs more frequently, which means that it is inherited to some extent, but not as much as it is talked about in the people. Type two, which occurs more often in middle or older life, is inherited more often than type one, which occurs in children and young people.

Genetic predisposition is not the only factor in the onset of diabetes. Whether or not someone who has a gentlemanly predisposition will develop diabetes usually depends on their lifestyle.

If a person with a genetic predisposition is overweight or even obese, he or she will have diabetes rather than a person who is predisposed, that is, belongs to the at-risk group and has an ideal or approximately ideal body weight. Persons who have a genetic predisposition are at risk for groups of patients and should be screened early, not only for glycemia, but also postprandially.

In people with a predisposition to diabetes, the trigger or trigger for the manifestation of the disease is usually a stressful situation or some infection.

Diabetes is significantly inherited from the male line. If the mother suffers from diabetes, the likelihood that the child will get it is only two percent. But if the father has diabetes, the child will inherit it with a probability of eight percent.
