Will Facebook Stop Being Free?

in #discussion7 years ago

Increasingly likely..the government will regulate it
...........................................................................................................................................................................................

Shortages drive up prices. Facebook and all of the other social media may have to charge a fee.

  • advertising revenue may no longer be able to support social media platforms. The end result would likely be a shift to a fee-based system, where users would have to pay to use Facebook and other platforms

awww...too bad..sooooo sad.

BUT WAIT

Steemit, doesn't collect any personal data, therefore Steemit should be exempt from the regulations.

Do you see what I'm getting at?

Sort:

I find the slow take up of steemit puzzling....
I think a lot of the reason, (in my professional opinion), is the lack of ease of using it.
A lot of people come, see that can't use is without thinking, and leave.
(the difficulty in formatting posts etc, should be addressed - sooner rather than later..)

see that can't use is without thinking, and leave.
you say that like it's a bad thing.

lolol.

If it stops people joining and staying, and upping the value, it is!

Ease of using tools on posts - Is a thing.
(pesky internet advances. I suppose we could return to full coding? lol)

On any modern website that's interactive - ease of use, and tools - exists - why not here?

well..actually we do have them here.
busy for example.
OR
you can upgrade Steemit with SteemPlus

SteemPlus is pretty cool.
it's got a bunchaton of neat features.
tell me how you like it.

just posted this on wrong link oops!

....and this is my point !- it uses chrome on firefox - I wont ever install it.

if it's not simple - ie there and ready to use - it will drive people away. My whole point.

there's an ap for that...to use chrome aps on opera..
dunno about the other stuff.
and the point is..if they runaway.
good riddance.
no better than bots.
we need people with grit.

....so if they run away because a new cutting edge social platform doesn't provide the tools avaliable on other social platforms - good riddance?
😂

I see holes in the logic of trying to attract and grow steemit with this perspective...
😂

If we only need people with grit, we will stay as a 60,000 person echo chamber.
(not good for steem price)

Facebook fees = one more incentive to check out Steemit

Let's publicize this far and wide.

it's being done..
I imagine your help will be appreciated.
