Long life spans tend to run in families, a phenomenon that's often attributed to people's genes. But a new, large study questions that.

I am sure the genes for having long life may differ in one person within a family.. some family members may have it , some not... 

There is a lot of evidence that genes make up only a small portion of what we experience.  Researchers put it at 10%.  Outlook, diet, exercise, and a host of other factors come into play more.  The old idea of just blaming genetics is going away.
